Simple Exercise and Diet Control can prevent gestational diabetes

A simple lifestyle intervention could be all it takes to prevent gestational diabetes even in high-risk women as new study suggests. 
In total 293 women with a history of GDM due to obesity. These risk factors included having a BMI of 30 or higher, a history of diabetes, or obesity, which is also a predictor of type 2 diabetes. The researchers divided them into a control group and an intervention group. 

The recent studies show that the we can prevent gestational diabetes at home without going to doctor.



Prevention of Gestational diabetes at home

Healthy dietary: Choose foods high in fiber and low in fat and calories. Focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Strive for variety to help you achieve your goals without compromising taste or nutrition. Watch portion sizes.

Physical Activity: Exercising before and during pregnancy can help protect you from developing gestational diabetes. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate activity on most days of the week. Take a brisk daily walk. Ride your bike. Swim laps.
