What are the physical benefits of swimming?
Swimming is a great form of cardio because it works your entire body. Plus, the resistance from the water helps to tone your body at the same time. Swimming is also GREAT way to get into shape because its much easier on the joints so you won't feel the aches and pains like you would while running.
It really works your arms and legs - Depending on which swim stroke you are using some are more targeted than others. Your legs & legs will def. be toned after a good summer of nothing but swimming. You will all around feel a lot more lean. You don't realise how much of a workout you're getting until you start seeing the great results!!
Swimming is a very low impact sport which means it doesn't put as much pressure on your joints (for example: running put lots of pressure in the joints). It works the upper body very well particularly the shoulders. It is a great cardio workout as well so its great for lungs/heart etc.
