What causes mumps?

Let the slices of ginger dry in sun and crush it into fine particles. Otherwise you can also buy ginger powder from market. Make paste of ginger powder with mixing enough amount of water. Apply below jaw line and also on cheeks. Let it dry and wipe it off with wet warm cloth. Repeat this process for at least 4 times a day for getting relaxation from pain of mumps.
*You can also drink ginger tea but as mumps make us difficult to swallow so method given above is better in my point of view.
2: Use of Baking soda: The alkaline property of baking soda do not allow mumps virus to grow. Make a paste of baking soda(only a pinch of baking soda) with required amount of water and apply it on swollen part. Let it dry for 2 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water. Practice this minimum thrice a day. This will stop mumps virus to affect more parts around neck and cheeks.
3: Use of Garlic: Likewise ginger, garlic is also effective because of it anti-inflammatory and anti-pain property. All you have to do is crush several cloves of garlic and leave it for some time on inflammation part. After this process you will get rid of pain caused due to mumps.
4: Use of pepper: Here is one weird way to treat mumps. Yes pepper is also very good home medicine to remove mumps. All you have to do is make thick paste of pepper with water and apply it over affected area like neck, cheeks and jawline. You will feel decrease in inflammation and this process will also treat your mumps in no time.
5: Using Carrot and pineapple juice: The required vitamins for treatment of mumps are also found in carrot and pineapple. Drink carrot and pineapple juice once or twice daily. It is also easiest and effective way to get rid of mumps.

7: Using Banyan leaf: Most of us don't have banyan tree at home. But it is not difficult to collect banyan leaves. Clean it properly and but come butter on it. Make it hot in a frying pan. Apply it over the swollen part. Hold it over there with help of tape. It is best to leave it on overnight. Repeat this process two times a day till u feel completely better( maximum for a week).
8: Use of Indian lilac(neem): Indian lilac (also called neem) has many property for curing many diseases. A main property of indian lilac is antiviral merit and also help to cure against the swelling caused because of mumps. Take handful of indian lilac leaves and crush it into fine powder. Now make a paste including one table spoon of turmeric, indian lilac powder and required amount of water. Apply it over swollen part and let it dry. After 30 minutes wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeating this process twice a day will heal your mumps in no time.
9: Using Fenugreek and Asparagus seeds: The main property of asparagus and fenugreek seeds is they increase the immunity against the disease. Take 3-3 table spoon of asparagus and fenugreek seeds and make thick paste mixing with water. Apply it on affected area in such a way that it completely cover the swollen part. Let it dry and wash it off with wet cloth. This process works effectively when we repeat it twice a day for at least one week. Another way is just drink juice of fenugreek seeds and water.
10: Use of Chebulic Myrobalan: Chebulic Myrobalan, also called as ink fruit, is known as a magical herb because of its anti-inflammatory and antibiotic property against disease like mumps. Take 2-3 chebulic fruit and let it dry in sun until it is suitable to grind into powder(6-7 hours). Make a thick paste of ink fruit with water with help of mixture. Put the paste around inflammation area i.e throat, jawline and cheeks so that all parts are wholly covered with paste. Let it dry and wash it off with wet soft cotton cloth. Continue this process for 2-3 times a day for a week. There will be sudden change around swollen area as well relief from pain.
11: Using Sacred Fig leaves: Sacred fig leaves have property that kills the virus causing mumps and also have property of anti-inflammatory that reduces swelling because of mumps. Likewise banyan leaves, clean sacred fig leaves properly and put some butter on it. Make it hot in a pan and keep it over the affected area. To hold leaf, you can use tape or bandage. After half an hour take it out. Repeat the process two time daily for a week for productive result.
12: Use of Mullein: Take a spoon of dried mullein leaves in a steeping ball. Steep it into a cup of hot water for 10-15 minutes. Mullein leaves has property of soothing and healing which will increase the rapidness of healing process. Drink minimum two cups of mullein tea a day. This will provide relief from pain. Otherwise dip a clean cotton cloth in mullein tea and put it over affected area. Repeat this process several times a day for better result.
